QuietJournal ("the app") is a voice journaling application. This policy explains, honestly and completely, what data the app handles.
Your journal never leaves your device. We cannot read it, and neither can anyone else with access to our (nonexistent) servers — QuietJournal has no servers.
Transcription uses your device's speech recognition service (Google on Android, Apple on iOS). On most devices this can run fully offline when an offline language pack is installed. If your device routes speech recognition through its vendor's service, that processing is governed by Google's or Apple's privacy policy, not ours. QuietJournal itself never uploads your audio or transcripts.
The free version shows banner ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage signals to serve and measure ads, as described in Google's privacy policy. Ad requests never include your journal content. Purchasing QuietJournal Pro removes all ads and stops all AdMob activity.
The Pro upgrade is processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information.
If you enable the app lock, authentication is handled by your device's operating system. The app never sees or stores your fingerprint or face data — it only receives a yes/no answer.
Everything lives on your device. Deleting an entry removes it permanently. Uninstalling the app removes all app data. There is nothing for us to delete on any server, because nothing was ever sent to one.
QuietJournal is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone — including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new "last updated" date.
